Brand Challenge

Step Up is national nonprofit known for its in-person mentorship programs for girls aged 14-23, Step Up faced the challenge of expanding into virtual and hybrid formats to reach new audiences during the pandemic. This transition opened doors to broader impact but also blurred the lines in showcasing the organization’s unique contributions, as conventional success metrics became less relevant. The imperative for Step Up was to clearly define and communicate the distinct value and enduring impact of its transformed services, ensuring the brand’s resonance with its core audience, as well as with donors and mentors.

The Solution

Celebrate Step Up’s expertise in helping girls define and build individualized pathways to success as a key differentiator.

  • Positions the girls as the protagonists of their own stories, with Step Up providing the essential framework to identify their aspirations and achieve them.

  • Allows Step Up to dial up the structure and focus the board and donors needed to see, while embracing the subjectivity of “success”

  • Facilitates mentors and professionals sharing their unique journeys, fostering mentorship and networking connections centered on common career aspirations and goals.

Step Up believes girls* deserve to define and pursue success on their terms. By bringing girls together in inspired spaces – on and offline – they spark exploration and discussion of what’s possible. With structured support and access to a strong community, Step Up guides girls towards their unique goals: first, by identifying those goals and then, building the roadmap to get there.
